Modernising the network of Europe’s busiest line

In 2024, ETF is undertaking a crucial project for RATP on the RER A line, the busiest in Europe with 1.4 million daily users. The six-month project is divided into two key phases.

The first phase, carried out between 8 and 12 May, involved renewing four switches and 230 metres of track between the Vésinet-Centre and Rueil-Malmaison stations. Teams from ETF’s Île-de-France Ouest branch, in collaboration with several other branches, mobilised significant human and material resources to carry out this operation.

The second phase, scheduled to take place between the end of October and mid-December, will involve the renovation of four switches and an additional 200 metres of track.

Feroway took charge of all rail safety services and the routing of work trains, ensuring that operations on site ran smoothly.

This project, under the project management of RATP Infrastructures, illustrates ETF’s commitment to improving the rail network in order to guarantee safe journeys for RER A users. Thanks to these efforts, the quality and reliability of the transport infrastructure will be enhanced, ensuring a better travel experience for the millions of people who use this line every day.
