Lieblos project: AGT expands its activities on the German national rail network

Historically focused on urban tracks (tramways), AGT, ETF’s German subsidiary, is now extending its activities to the Deutsche Bahn (DB) segment with the opening of two new sectors: DB-Pavements and Industry, and DB-Civil Engineering for Railways.

One of the flagship projects of this new strategy is the ESTW Lieblos worksite, currently AGT’s largest project. Work will take place from April to October 2024.

This ambitious project involves the construction of GRP and concrete cable trays along the line between Glauburg-Stockheim and Gelnshausen, including occasional track crossings. Two level crossings, at Mittel-Gründau and Gründau Lieblos, are being converted. In addition, an electronic control centre will be installed at Lieblos station.

AGT successfully met a number of technical challenges, particularly due to the areas affected by Second World War bombing. A preparatory sounding phase to detect potential munitions was successfully carried out, guaranteeing the safety of the site.

The work is being carried out in compliance with the strictest rail safety standards. From 12 July, the project reached its peak production, leading to the temporary closure of the track, but ensuring smooth and on-time delivery.

Through this major project, AGT is demonstrating its commitment to meeting complex challenges, as part of an ambitious strategy of diversification and growth in the German rail market.
