Track works

ETF to build the western extension of Strasbourg’s F tramway system

In March 2024, ETF won the contract to supply and lay the track for the western extension of line F of the Strasbourg tramway. On behalf of Compagnie des Transports Strasbourgeois (CTS), our teams will be building a new 4,500 metre long line. 8 new stops will be created from the ‘Comtes’ terminus to Wolfisheim.

Entry into service, scheduled for the last quarter of 2025, will benefit tens of thousands of additional passengers.‘ Jeanne BARSEGHIAN, Mayor of Strasbourg. This extension will improve services to the neighbourhoods it passes through and provide direct access to the employment areas of the Eckbolsheim, Forges and Parc Gruber business parks.

ETF will devote 2,400 hours to integration, i.e. 5% of its workforce. As well as developing fast, sustainable mobility, this commitment confirms our desire to act virtuously through employment and education. Thanks to its many achievements, ETF has established itself as a reliable and recognised partner. The client’s choice was also based on ETF’s commitment to our CSR approach.

Jointly managed by the Grands Projets Urbains agency and the Est agency, this project will benefit from local and national expertise.

The project is also notable for ETF’s dual expertise, encompassing both track construction and catenary installation, offering integrated solutions and seamless coordination between the various project components. In February 2024, ETF’s Catenary teams were awarded the contract to install the overhead contact lines (without supply) for this same tramway line. The start of work, scheduled for November 2024, will mark the beginning of an intense twelve-month construction period.

These projects reflect ETF’s commitment to modernising and extending rail infrastructure to better serve tomorrow’s mobility needs.
