ETF drives green rail with Total HVO100 biofuel
Since 11 April 2023, ETF’s Suite Rapide Zone Dense (SRZD) agency has been using Total HVO100 biofuel. Made from vegetable oils and animal fats, it is a 100% renewable chemical structure: an eco-responsible choice certified by the European Union.
In three months, only 150,000 litres of HVO100 were consumed, emitting just 108 tonnes of CO2. If conventional diesel had been used, this figure would have risen to 475 tonnes of CO2. Thanks to HVO100, 75% of the emissions linked to non-road diesel have been reduced.
By choosing Total HVO100 biofuel, ETF is making a commitment to a greener rail future. This is a decisive step towards minimising its carbon footprint while maintaining optimum operating efficiency.
ETF is leading the way towards a sustainable energy transition, proving that the rail industry can be a driving force for change. Together, let’s build a cleaner, more efficient future!
