A promising future for catenary works
The year 2024 is off to a flying start for the Catenary Activities Division, with the acquisition of six major contracts across France.
On the national rail network: 3 worksites won on Phase 1 of the major Projects in the South-West.
- 1 reshaping worksite on 14 km of double track for the AFNT project “Aménagements Ferroviaires au Nord de Toulouse” (Rail developments north of Toulouse)
- 2 catenary preparation worksites for the AFSB project “Aménagements Ferroviaires au Sud de Bordeaux” (Rail developments to the south of Bordeaux)
Urban projects: Award of the catenary construction contracts for extensions or new tramway lines in Lyon (T10 and BHNS), Brest, Aubagne and Strasbourg.
To respond effectively to these invitations to tender, the catenary operations teams were able to count on the strong involvement of their design office. This synergistic approach has enabled us to gain an in-depth understanding of our customers’ needs. Drawing on their know-how, our catenary experts were able to propose technical solutions that perfectly met the requirements and constraints. This was the key to success for ETF, which won all these contracts on the basis of the best bid (best technical score).
These projects are scheduled to run from 2024 to 2027, and will involve around 100 operational staff. ETF is therefore positioning itself as a key player in the field of catenary works in France, and is expanding its activities by opening a new specialist branch in Bordeaux. This geographical expansion is also accompanied by growth in human resources, with the creation of around thirty new positions.
This success marks an important milestone for ETF in its commitment to providing innovative and reliable rail infrastructure solutions, helping to improve and modernise France’s transport network.
